15-min simple dish - Bovril Chicken

Let's get it started!

We used a pack of skinned chicken thighs

Put them in boiling water and blanch for 5 mins until the impurity comes out, then drain it

They should be looking like this

The two main seasonings

Bovril and dried pasta pepper herbs

Prepare a big bowl and put two table spoons of Bovril and 4 tea spoons of dried herbs in the bowl

Mix it with a tea spoon of sesame oil

two tea spoons of nice olive oil

a table spoon of light soy sauce

Mix it together to form a coating sauce

Let your chicken thighs swim in the sauce

Put the chicken in a oven tray and bake it for 10 mins at 190'c.

Voila!

Gingerbread Lattes Review – Starbucks, Pacific Coffee & McCafe!

I love the seasonal specials in the coffee shops, especially the ones for xmas and when you are away from your family!

No mall décor can give you this personal experience of the direct contact of the taste buds, the first idea of what a festival is about was probably the moment your mum feed you the first spoon of Christmas pudding.

I certainly don’t remember all the food I had in the xmas parties when I was little, but I remember the scents of cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, orange, cream and gingerbread…

I personally think that a good gingerbread latte is the one that would bring you back to the festive joyful memories, which means the ingredients, temperature of the latte & the atmosphere in the coffee shop make this happen!

I have given myself an excuse to try different Gingerbread lattes for the sake of reviewing them! ;) ehehehe

I’m not a coffee expert, just judging the cups with what I know about gingerbread latte, they should be made with espresso coffee, gingerbread (syrup), milk, whipped cream, ground nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla.

So now you know what do I expect!

So below are the reviews in terms of Coffee Shop, Location, Waiting time, Taste of the Gingerbread latte and it’s Presentation, scoring from 1-5 with 5 being the perfect cup!

Shop on 1/F, Prosperity Tower, 39 Queens Road Central

    Comment:
The scents of gingerbread, cinnamon, vanilla and espresso were rich, they were blended very well together, the sweetness was just right.
6 mins waiting time was a bit too long and the staff didn’t ask the customers their names , so it was a little confusing at the pick-up point.

MCCAFE

    Comment:
The scents of gingerbread & nutmeg was fine, however it tasted somehow artificial, I guess it was the kind of syrup that they used. The taste of espresso and milk was very weak, it was watery and slightly sweeter than I expected.  It was quick and the staffs were efficient.  The place was chaotic, didn’t want to stay there at all
