Darkness and Home

We have talked about it today, she asked me.

I read this tonight and wanted to borrow this is from Lisey's Story.

"- When it was done and you went to sleep, I lay awake and listened to the clock on your nightstand and the wind outside and understood that I was really home, that in bed with you was home, and something that had been getting close in the dark was suddenly gone. It could not stay, it had been banished. It knew how to came back, I was sure of that, but it could not stay, and I could really go to sleep. My heart cracked with gratitude I've ever really known. I lay there beside you and the tears rolled down the sides of my face and onto the pillow. I loved you then and I love you now and I have loved you every second in between. I don't care if you understand me. Understanding is vastly overrated, but nobody ever gets enough safty. I've never forgotten how safe I felt with that thing gone out of the darkness. "

Day 4 - The Seoul Impression

This is one of my very first impression of Korea - Ginseng Chicken soup with kimchi and I went to the best place in Korea for it this time.

One of the things I love about in my stay in Seoul is that they have a great selection of yogurt drink, below is one of the most delicious one I have had!

A little snack leftover from last night! hehe

Finally went out, it was snowing that morning and we accidentally found this lovely coffee shop

It reminded me a bit of my classroom back to the 90's

Vanilla mocha and a club sandwich, sounds ordinary but it was just more than perfect for that snowy cold morning

Many cafes there have smoking area, that's quite thoughtful actually

Little cute chair decors

The decor here are very simple and the metal ones are all rusted, it doesn't sound like an appetizing place to eat but strangely those made the place very cozy

Small takeout window at the entrance

Time to start our day - getting our first subway travel card

This is the deposit refund machine for the subway cards, but they work only if you get the single passes

They have several kinds of gates here, this is the newest kind :)

The subway map in Seoul

I guess these accessory stores make great profit here, they are almost everywhere!

Very cute animal little bags

lol

Snack stores are big here in the subway, eating is allowed here in Korea subway

Custard waffles

Even if there is no snack stores there are always snack machines!!

Napping while traveling! snack stores everywhere, city life?

One of the school uniforms, quite  like their bright color but probably the kids would disagree with me!

Arrived Geongbukgond

Geongbukgong is situated in the city center

New and old

This lion has been watching the city grow

The entrance of Geongbukgong

The Korean "fortunate clouds", often seen with phoenix and dragons

The blogs in the old days lol .....

The Journey to the West - the characters used to be the guardians of the palace

Etiquette machine in the washroom, had never tired tho...it supposed to play yogo music while you do your business ... lol

The old vs the new

Immortal Gate - removed from the palace and now situated in the subway exit of the palace

"Charity" band in the tube

The art wall in the same station

The best chicken Ginseng soup in Korea is here - Local Custom Village (translated)

The strong yet very smooth rice wine you must drink before digging in

Tubes of ginseng

Fire place

They do roasted chicken too :)

This kind of humor is everywhere in Seoul

This is a grilled chicken booth

STARBUCKS - Can't you read it!?

Ice-skating ring in the middle of City Hall

Right next to a lovely cafe :)

Finally found a local home-style diner for dinner
